Meet the Decentralized Infrastructure Network Partners: Microsoft, Chainstack, and 16 More

For the first time Infura shares the partners behind the decentralized infrastructure network known as DIN.

Live from the 2023 Decentralized RPC Summit, Infura presents to the web3 ecosystem and beyond the partners building the decentralized infrastructure network, also known as DIN. Partners are a diverse and powerful cohort of legacy cloud infrastructure providers from web2 and crypto-native node operators from web3. 

DIN will be led by Infura and introduces Microsoft, Tencent Cloud, 0xFury, Bloq, Chainstack, Covalent, Ellipfra, Everstake, Gateway.fm, Grove, Laconic Network, LinkPool, LinkRiver, Luscent, Mantle, MatrixedLink, Pokt, Rivet, and Tencent Cloud as cornerstone partners building an initial federated version of DIN.

Progressively moving towards a decentralized RPC layer for web3

DIN will be a decentralized RPC-as-a-service solution that aims to make access to web3 data more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. DIN will provide a new way for developers to connect to Ethereum and other blockchains, and is a significant milestone in Infura’s ongoing efforts to foster decentralized internet infrastructure.

“While other infrastructure providers are in an arms race to gobble up market share Infura has gone in a wholly different direction by starting DIN,” said Erik Ashdown, Covalent Head of Ecosystem. “By working with partners who have already optimized parts of the stack to better serve the developer this really embodies the ethos of crypto and the phrase a rising tide raises all ships.”

Partners have been closely collaborating throughout 2023, focusing on five core challenges DIN seeks to tackle: network latency, data replication, node failures, security, and scalability. Since September, the DIN team and partners have three working groups focused on internode consistency, forecasting usage, and acceptance criteria, to enable the planned network infrastructure: 

Building a new public good network that can serve as a foundational layer of web3 is a major undertaking. Getting it right requires coalescing around a set of standards that will ensure such a decentralized system can serve developers and scale. This is why the first iteration of DIN will be federated by the original group of partners announced today.

In the coming months DIN expects to welcome more members and will release a collaborative roadmap for the progressive decentralization of the infrastructure network.
